4 Intolerable Acts
ист"гнусные законы" (в российской историографии: "репрессивные законы")Распространенное среди американских колонистов название ряда законов, принятых парламентом Англии после Бостонского чаепития [ Boston Tea Party] в 1774. Второе, более позднее название - "репрессивные законы" [ Coercive Acts]. Закон о Бостонском порте [Boston Port Act] от 31 марта закрыл порт для всякой торговли вплоть до выплаты городом компенсации за чай, сброшенный колонистами в воды Бостонской гавани [Boston Harbor]. Закон о правительстве Массачусетса [Massachusetts Government Act] от 20 мая предусматривал назначение членов верхней палаты законодательного собрания в Массачусетсе английскими властями, усиливал власть назначаемого короной губернатора, предусматривал назначение присяжных шерифами и запретил созыв городских собраний [ town meeting] без специального разрешения губернатора. Закон лишал Массачусетс конституционной хартии [Massachusetts Charter], то есть права на самоуправление. Закон о беспристрастном отправлении правосудия [Impartial Administration of Justice Act] от 20 мая допускал перенос в другую колонию или в метрополию суда над английскими чиновниками, совершившими серьезные преступления при исполнении служебных обязанностей. К репрессивным законам американские колонисты отнесли и Закон о военном постое [ Quartering Act] от 2 июня, который давал гражданским чиновникам колониальной администрации право конфисковывать жилые дома или пустующие частные здания для размещения английских солдат, а также требовать от колонистов предоставления дров, питья, постельных принадлежностей, мыла и свечей для солдат. Квебекский акт [ Quebec Act] от 22 июня включил в состав колонии Квебек территорию к югу вплоть до р. Огайо [ Ohio River], предоставив при этом административный контроль властям Квебека и провозгласив свободу вероисповедания для католиков бывшей французской колонии на всей этой территории. Принят британским парламентом в числе Репрессивных законов [ Intolerable Acts] 20 мая 1774. Губернатор Массачусетса получал право с согласия Генерального совета [ General Court] направлять лиц, нарушивших закон, в другую британскую колонию для суда над ними.
